It’s been a while…

Since I’ve blogged and its been a busy two weeks, what with work and family life. From a work perspective I’ve had a number of interesting conversations with Resourcing and HR professionals. Talent Acquisition and Recruitment is now central stage and seen as a more specialist function that is absolutely pivotal to a companies success. My team have been delivering Development Centres to a public sector organisation and they’re now looking to transfer the assessment tools and methods into their selection processes. This involves the use of Wave and Hogan profiling as well as roleplay, group exercises and a presentation. There is clear evidence that a well structured and validated selection process not only engages candidates in the process but also increases quality of hire. Especially where Wave and Hogan profiling is carried through into development plans.

We’ve had another client contact us regarding a recruitment audit requirement. They’d heard about other similar projects we’ve delivered. They are struggling to recruit volume and niche roles consistently and they also have a high dependency and spend with recruitment agencies so I’m looking forward to auditing, analysing and reporting back with recommendations.

Lastly, I visited a client last week who are now exploring a new RPO solution. They’re really clear about their requirements, where they want to be in relation to developing what they already have. Interestingly they are looking to have one tech solution that delivers what Finance, HR and Recruitment require. In my experience this very rarely happens, especially due to there being so many specialist and niche tech solutions to aid candidate, recruiter and hiring manager experience. The importance of integration is becoming more important as you build your recruitment tech stack and bolt on to a central ERP or HR system. There’s a great podcast by Matt Alder on this at Recruiting Future which I’d thoroughly recommend listening to.

P.s It’s been a busy week with my (not so) little boy Jack turning 6. Early celebrations last weekend, celebrations with school friends on his birthday Wednesday have meant a hectic week. A quiet weekend is planned this weekend. Whatever your up to, have a good one!
