💭 Today’s #MondayMusing takes a moment to reflect on the array of conversations that filled our week. Throughout these dialogues, the spotlight often shone on the ever-evolving world of work and its dynamic practices.
We explored the resounding impact of flexible working, from embracing “work from anywhere” policies to the stark contrast within companies—those venturing into the future and those unwavering in the realm of the traditional office-based 9-5. The persistence of this traditional structure might come as a surprise in our rapidly changing world!
These discussions raised intriguing questions about our domain of #TalentAcquisition and recruiting practices. It sparked a notion that we find ourselves employing 19th-century methods, such as CVs and cover letters, in the heart of the 21st century. This is happening despite the remarkable innovations and technologies we’ve adopted in various other facets of our operations.
So, our Monday musing beckons us to ponder: Why do we persist with these practices, particularly when we’re well aware of the widespread skill shortages? There are undoubtedly more effective methods at our disposal, so what lies at the core of our reluctance to embrace change moving to 21st Century recruiting practices?? 🤔💼🌟 #RecruitingReimagined
